Wine roscos

The recipe for these wine roscos is typical of Christmas and very simple to make.


  • 80 grams sugar
  • 100ml olive oil
  • 300 grams flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 and a half tablespoons of anise
  • Zest of half a lemon
  • 75 ml sweet wine
  • 1 and a half tablespoons of sesame or matalauva
  • Sugar glass

Elaboration of Wine Roscos

In a pan over low heat, put the oil and fry the sesame until it starts to smell. Remove from heat and let cool.

In a bowl place the flour and add the oil with the sesame, sugar, sweet wine, aniseed, cinnamon, lemon zest. Mix with a spatula until a consistent ball is formed.

Put on the marble and stretch the dough with a rolling pin to give it a thickness of 1 cm.
With a mold or even a glass, give them a round shape.

Put on a baking tray and bake heat up and down at 170 degrees. Each oven is different, it took me 31 minutes.
When they are slightly golden, take them out. Without letting them cool, coat them in icing sugar.
